Daniel Burnett has worked as a General Partner for a medical device focused venture capital firm and has founded four venture-backed medical device companies: BAROnova, Novashunt, Velomedix and EMKinetics. In each case he acted as the CEO up to the Series A financing and has helped raise over $45M for these ventures. A Bioengineer by training, Dan has worked for the FDA and has 9 issued and over 40 pending patents. He received his MD and MBA from Duke University and completed his internship at the Mayo Clinic.
 

Daniel will share his learnings over the years based on his experience as a venture capitalist and then as a serial entrepreneur. He will go through the various aspects that potential investors would like to see in a pitch and give a case-study example of each of these facets based on one of his companies that was actually financed.
