Event details:  

Gender stereotypes can affect how we assess our own competencies at career-relevant tasks, thereby funneling men and women away from gender atypical careers. Professor Shelley Correll will describe the literature on gender stereotypes and emerging career aspirations and draw out the implications for careers in science, engineering and leadership positions.  This event will focus on what organizations and individuals can do to mitigate the negative effects of stereotypes on women and men's careers.  Lunch will be provided.
