Registration Deadline: August 7

Time: 9:00 AM - Noon

Hartley Conference Room, Mitchell Earth Sciences Building

Sponsor: Office of the Vice Provost for Graduate Education (VPGE)
Event details:

If someone were to ask you if you are a leader or ever plan to be, what would your answer be? Even though you might be quick to respond with a resounding NO, the fact is, you will eventually find yourself managing and leading others whatever career you choose. Being an effective manager/leader requires hard work and training. The Office of the Vice Provost for Graduate Education (VPGE) is sponsoring a workshop to help you prepare.

This workshop will help you assess some of your core leadership strengths and areas for development. The focus will be on three areas:

    • How do you behave under stress and what behaviors may be derailing your interpersonal effectiveness with others?
    • How are you perceived by others in terms of thinking strategically, influencing others, building relationships, achieving results?
    • How do you handle changing circumstances and how should you work with (or manage) others who have very different strengths and challenges?

Additional information and/or registration:

Participants must attend all three workshops. Registration deadline is August 7. To learn more and sign up, go to the VPGE website . Space is limited so sign up ASAP.
