Overview:
Management consultants are well-known for their ability to bring about change and solutions to organizations by facilitating expert strategy, operations, and technology decision making. Working in a fast-paced, stimulating and dynamic environment, healthcare consultants are constantly learning about, and solving the complex challenges of healthcare delivery. In this presentation, Dirk Calcoen, M.D. of The Boston Consulting Group (BCG), will address how consulting can be a rewarding and impactful career for medical professionals. Working in BCG's Health Care practice provides MDs the opportunity to help shape the future of health care through providing strategic advice to the world's top health care companies.

The summer Bridge to BCG workshop will immediately follow the BCG Health Care Program. Bridge to BCG is a two day workshop and opportunity to explore careers in healthcare management while learning consulting skills, participating in a case experience, and getting to know BCGers in a realistic workplace setting. The program is designed specifically for advanced degree candidates (PhDs, MDs, JDs) with a planned 2010 graduation.  The program is non-evaluative, but priority will be given to Bridge participants for the Fall interview selection process.

Fee: Free and open to Stanford ID holders.
