The California Academy of Sciences (www.calacademy.org) is seeking participants for an Extraterrestrial Life-themed public science festival on October 12 – 13, 2013.

Who: Scientists, students, researchers, professors, community partners, and others are needed to host interactive tables at the festival.

What: The Academy is looking for partners who can host interactive activities, demos, and inquiry-based interpretation with a mixed-ages audience.  Activities can relate to the extraterrestrial life theme in any way (physics, engineering, geology, citizen science, astronomy, planetary sciences, etc.).  Public Programs staff at the Academy can provide assistance and guidance in developing an appropriate interactive if desired.

Where: California Academy of Sciences, located at 55 Music Concourse Drive, San Francisco 94118.

When: Representatives from your organization should be available from 10AM to 4PM on both October 12 & 13.

Why: The public science festival is the culmination of almost a month of programs about extraterrestrial lifeFestivals like this one allow the Academy to partner with scientists and outside organizations to educate the public about a variety of scientific topics!
