Vivek Khuller, Advisory Board Member

Vivek Khuller is an entrepreneur and investor who is passionate about building successful businesses and high performing teams with the next generation of entrepreneurs in technology, health, wellness and food sectors.

Vivek is the founder, president and CEO of Clearfly Communications, a telecommunications service provider. Under his leadership, Clearfly developed a business model that is up to 3x more capital efficient than other leading industry providers.

Prior to founding Clearfly, Vivek was a Venture Partner at Clearstone Venture Partners and an Entrepreneur-in-Residence at Matrix Partners in Silicon Valley. Vivek earned these positions based on his previous business development work at Sycamore Networks, an optical switch manufacturer, where he conceived a novel switch design that could expand access to the company’s largest untapped market at the time. Vivek began his career at Verizon where he won the company’s highest annual honor, the Chairman’s Award, given to 1 out of 130,000 employees, for developing automated testing software for emerging data services that saved millions of dollars in operational costs. At Verizon, he was also one of the earliest members of the Internet Center of Excellence.

Vivek serves on the Board of Visitors at the School of Computer, Mathematical and Natural Sciences at the University of Maryland. Vivek is an active investor in the technology sector of the public markets and numerous Bay Area small businesses. As a philanthropist, he has funded cancer research at UCSF and helped spearhead the Harvard Innovation Lab since its inception. As a fitness enthusiast, Vivek stair-climbed San Francisco’s Coit Tower the equivalent of 13 Mount Everest ascents in 2018.

Vivek received his BS in Electrical Engineering with Distinction from Mangalore University (India), MS in Electrical engineering from University of Maryland at College Park, and MBA with Distinction from Harvard Business School.
