Cuong Do, Advisory Board Emeritus Member

Cuong Do leads the Global Strategy Group and helps set the strategic direction of Samsung Group’s diverse business portfolio.  Prior to Samsung, he was the Chief Strategy Officer for Merck, Tyco Electronics, and Lenovo.  He was also a former senior partner at McKinsey & Company, where he spent 17 years and helped build the healthcare, high tech and corporate finance practices.  Cuong often straddles the worlds of healthcare and high tech and has helped companies grow by pursuing new opportunities through internal development, acquisitions, corporate venturing, and partnerships. He is an active entrepreneur – starting companies himself, coaching startup CEOs, and serving on startup boards.  He recently started CareVisor to develop a new platform to help patient adhere to their care plans.  He founded Callidus Biopharma (a biotech company working in rare diseases that was acquired by Amicus Therapeutics in 2013), Lysodel Therapeutics (company developing an innovative pharmaceutical product for obesity), and M6P Therapeutics (company developing gene and enzyme replacement therapies for rare diseases).

He currently serves on the boards of BioVie, Curve, ILiAD Biotechnologies, Laava, RenalSense, and previously WuXi AppTec.  He also serves of the Investment Committee for The CXO Fund and K2 Access Fund..

He is active with many philanthropic activities, particularly in autism and education.  He founded Identifor, Inc. and Identifor Foundation to help autistic teenagers identify abilities and strengths to make the transition to adulthood.  He also founded Profectum Foundation to help train clinicians and parents on how to work with autistic children.  He helped build Celebrate the Children, a school for children with special needs in New Jersey. He served on the board of Autism Speaks and its Executive and Science Committees. He also currently or previously served on the boards of the Tuck School of Business at Dartmouth, Fulbright University Vietnam, Caring for Cambodia (non-profit working to establish the model schools for Cambodia), and the National Youth Science Foundation.

He holds a Bachelor of Arts degree from Dartmouth College, New Hampshire, U.S. and a Master of Business Administration from the Tuck School of Business at Dartmouth.
