Dr. Oxana Palesh, PhD, MPH

Principle Investigator

Dr. Oxana Palesh completed her Stress and Psychooncology Fellowship at Stanford University in 2006 and MPH at University of Rochester in 2009.  Outside of research, she enjoys hiking, climbing, running, and comedy shows.

Elisa Hofmeister, BS

Clinical Research Coordinator

Elisa Hofmeister graduated from Stanford University in 2018 with a degree in Human Biology. She is interested in treatment side effects and their impact on the quality of life of cancer survivors. In the future, she hopes to attend medical school and utilize her experience in the Palesh lab to promote wellness during and after chronic illness.
Outside of the lab, Elisa loves hiking, running, cooking, and road trips.

Sophie Fisher, BS

Clinical Research Coordinator

Sophie Fisher graduated from Brown University in 2019 with a degree in Neuroscience. She is interested in the effects of cancer treatments on cognition in cancer survivors, particularly the ways in which neural networks are altered during treatment and beyond. In the future, she hopes to attend medical school and integrate what she has learned during her time in the Palesh lab into her studies to improve patient care and treatment options. When not working in the lab, Sophie loves playing soccer, reading, exploring nature, and traveling.

Leah Tolby

Undergraduate Student Research Assistant

Leah Tolby is a junior at Stanford University, majoring in Biology. She is interested in health education. Outside of the lab, Leah loves to dance, read and do puzzles. In the future, she hopes to attend medical school. 

Sabrina Chao

Undergraduate Student Research Assistant

Sabrina Chao is a junior at Stanford University, majoring in Human Biology. Sabrina is interested in cancer research and hopes to go to medical school after her undergraduate studies. Outside of the lab, she loves to go to the gym, listen to music, and watch movies. 

Sarah Sackeyfio

Undergraduate Student Research Assistant

Sarah Sackeyfio is a rising senior at Stanford University, majoring in Physics. Sarah is interested in cancer and biophysics research and hopes to go to medical school after her undergraduate studies. Outside of the lab she enjoys dancing, reading, and watching TV.

Tara Sullivan

Undergraduate Student Research Assistant

Tara Sullivan is a sophomore at Stanford University, majoring in Psychology. She is interested in the psychosocial wellbeing of cancer patients and hopes to pursue graduate studies in health and clinical psychology. Outside of the lab, she can be found reading poetry, embroidering, and taking trips to the beach.
