Biostatistics & Research Informatics Shared Resource

About Biostatistics and Research Informatics

The Biostatistics and Research Informatics Shared Resource provides statistical support to assist researchers at each stage of a study’s lifecycle, including project design, mid-study evaluation and the interpretation and reporting of results. The facility also assists with the statistical review of proposed studies and the planning of research-related data management systems.

Resource services are matched to the needs of each project, and cover a full range of services from collaboration and routine service support to development of customized analytical methods.

The Resource also manages the Stanford Cancer Institute Research Database (SCIRDB), which allows SCI researchers to collect, integrate and analyze de-identified patient data from Stanford’s electronic health records and from a wide range of other data sources.

Resource staff advise on a range of strategic issues with statistical and informatics content, such as criteria for scientific review and development of databases and registries, as well as the re-engineering of clinical and research informatics across Stanford Medicine and its affiliated networks.
