Media Relations

The Stanford School of Medicine Office of Communication & Public Affairs is dedicated to sharing news with the public and media, and helping journalists secure interviews, photographs and rich media for stories on cancer research and care.

Print media

Our group offers supplemental background and timely access to researchers, physicians or faculty members. Contact Ruthann Richter or Becky Bach to schedule interviews and other deadline-related needs.

Guidelines for TV/video and digital media

Permission must be obtained from our office prior to any filming or recording on School of Medicine grounds. Upon request, we may arrange for video crews to attend procedures, tape a live event or conduct interviews with faculty and staff members.

Once permission has been granted, our representatives will make the necessary arrangements with campus security, provide parking information and help guide crews through the process of setting up a video shoot or radio spot on campus. Contact Margarita Gallardo or Michelle Brandt for filming or radio requests.

Photography requests

Photographs of the medical center for publication are not permitted without prior authorization from our office. To arrange a photo shoot at the School of Medicine or to photograph School of Medicine faculty, staff and physicians, contact Ruthann Richter.

To obtain current photographs of researchers, faculty and staff or historical images of the School of Medicine from our archives, contact Susan Ipaktchian.
