A Stanford-created non-invasive blood test that can detect Down syndrome and two other major genetic defects very early in a woman's pregnancy will be available beginning March 1. Stephen Quake, the Lee Otterson Professor of Bioengineering, who was involved in the development of these prenatal tests, is quoted in this article.
