Mother's Day!

Dora with her mother and sister
Here is a picture of my mom, sister and me after breakfast.

Today is Mother's Day. I always wondered why we only dedicate one day to celebrate our mothers, after all if it was not for my mother, I would not be where I am today.

Actually in Mexico, Mother's Day is celebrated on May 10th no matter if it happens to land on a Sunday or not.

Everyone gets the day off from work and there is no school for the kids in order for them to perform dances, plays, and singing recitals for their mothers.

I think this is really a great idea. I have never happened to be in Mexico during the month of May to personally experience a Mother's Day there, but my mother tells me stories of when she used to live in Mexico and the many festivities they had for them.

I believe mothers should be celebrated and thanked everyday of our lives and that we should not have to wait until the month of May to do so.

Today in the morning we had breakfast with my parents, grandparents, and my mom's brother and his wife.

After spending the rest of the afternoon with my mom and sister, they dropped me off at the airport for my return flight back to San Jose.

My fiance picked me up from the airport and we then went to spend time with his family in San Jose. After enjoying a great Mexican BBQ, we finally wound down our evening and watched the Sopranos.

I am now getting ready to begin my week all over again. Back to surgeries and western blots! I am looking forward to what my week will bring along!

This is also the last day of my blog. I have enjoyed sharing my week. I hope that you have enjoyed reading about it.

Take care and best wishes to all!
