It all begins on Monday...

I wish I could say that Mondays are my favorite day, but the fact of the matter is I have never liked Mondays. I think Monday gets a bad rep though. I mean if our weekend just shifted one day we would all love Mondays...right?

Anyway, today I had a pretty late start, even for me. I ended up strolling onto campus at noon. I have been attending double lab meetings this quarter. One for my current rotation, Miriam Goodman's lab, and one for the rotation I was in last quarter, James Nelson's lab. I am pretty sure that I have decided upon the Nelson lab however I am waiting until the last two weeks of the quarter before I make a final decision.

I think that has been my biggest issue with graduate school... rotations. Don't get me wrong I think that everyone should do all 3 rotations and you should definitely do something that is completely off the wall to you. It's amazing the things you can learn.

At the same time it's a HUGE tease. I mean my second rotation was awesome. I actually started it a month early and ended 3 weeks later than the quarter. You think you have a home and then the next thing you know you are moving onto another lab to see if that's your home. Tease!

So by the time I got out of lab meeting and class it was already 4:30 pm. Unfortunately, because my lazy butt wanted to stay at home and watch The View, it meant working in lab at night. Not too bad because it meant the music was blaring on the laptop and that I could focus on my journal club presentation for Monday.

By 9:30 though I needed a definite change of scenery. So after calling up my roommate, we ended up at the CoHo, coffee shop on main campus, namely cuz there's coffee, a caffeinated atmosphere, and it's open until 1am.

I know what you're thinking... it doesn't seem like a caffeinated environment based on your face. But what you don't see is the live band that was in the CoHo, which surprisingly made me work faster.

Don't get me wrong though, I'll crash the second my head hits the pillow.
