About Me

Andrea... who is she?
Yeah... I've been asking myself this question for years. I think I have come to the realization that I will only learn with time.
This is what I've got so far.
My name is Andrea Hartsock. I am a first-year student at Stanford University in the Molecular and Cellular Physiology Program. I did my undergraduate at San Francisco State University... one of the little known yet older Cal State Universities.
I was raised just outside of Los Angeles where my entire family still resides. Although this is a true testament that I am in fact a California girl, it does not mean that the only transition words I know are "like," or that "dude" and "hella" are a major part of my vocabulary. It does unfortunately mean that I can count how many times I've seen snow on one hand.
Although I am at one of the top research institutions out there, my ultimate goal is actually to teach. I eventually would like to have my own lab but more so to train others. I just feel that in order to promote graduate school as a choice for other minorities, I myself need to complete the process myself.
We shall see with time how it all plays out.
