From the Desk of the Associate Dean for Alumni Affairs

Dear Alumni,

The Board of Governors is looking to the membership of the association to recommend individuals to become class representatives, serve on the board, and receive the alumni achievement award.

Class Representatives play a key role in our organization by being the interface between their classmates and both the association and the Medical School. There are no specific requirements to serve, other than an ongoing interest in the school and a desire to help keep your colleagues engaged. The time required is small, but the rewards are great.

The Board of Governors and the association officers set policy and create programs for the organization. There is an ongoing need for creative persons to serve on the board and any and all association members be they MD or PhD grads, ex-residents or fellows are encouraged to participate.

The J. E. Wallace Sterling “Muleshoe” Lifetime Achievement Award is symbolic of excellence in achievements. It is bestowed to MD graduates who have had exemplary careers which reflect well on Stanford Medical School. Nominees for this important award are always welcomed.

I hope that many of you will consider helping our organization by taking part or by letting us know of others you feel would contribute to the organization. Self-nominations are definitely welcome.

I look forward to hearing from you.

Sincerely,

Ross Bright, MD ’58
Associate Dean for Alumni Affairs
