TOMORROW’S MEDICAL LEADERS
Late last summer, the Stanford University School of Medicine entering class of 2010 gathered in front of the recently completed Li Ka Shing Center for Learning and Knowledge for the day of the annual stethoscope ceremony. While most other schools present students with white coats, Stanford students also receive a stethoscope. This signifies the beginning of a career in medicine, the connection between physician and patient, and the imperative of listening. The ceremony is sponsored by SUMCAA, the School of Medicine, and The Arnold P. Gold Foundation.
