Training
ELIGIBILITY:
Potentially, any professional caring for, or studying preterm infants in an intensive or intermediate care nursery is eligible to become a NAPI examiner. The training consists of two major and equally important components: achieving reliability in administration of the examination and achieving reliability of scoring.
A training video tape which demonstrates the technique and flow of the assessment is available for purchase along with a manual of instructions giving information concerning the test development, detailed directions for administration and scoring, and normative data.
